Whether you are looking for a thought-provoking afternoon of lectures or an high-energy night of live performances, Louisville has something unique to offer this Friday, February 20, 2026.

Morning & Afternoon Highlights

Start your day with a journey through local history. Councilman Ken Herndon is hosting the annual Black History Month Bus Tour to the Roots 101 African American Museum. This complimentary round-trip tour departs from the Bishop’s Table at Gospel Missionary Church at 10:00 a.m. Participants will receive free admission to the museum, a guided presentation, and light refreshments, returning by 1:30 p.m. It is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the lasting contributions of African Americans in our community.

For music lovers, the Louisville Orchestra presents Sound of a New Nation at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. Starting at 11:00 a.m., this performance celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States with anthems and symphonic works that shaped the sounds of early America. If you prefer visual arts, the Little Loomhouse is hosting the Young Visionaries Exhibition featuring the textile works of Victoria Christensen, open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Evening Performances and TEDx

One of the most anticipated events today is TEDxBellarmineU 2026, taking place at the Wyatt Center for the Arts at 6:00 p.m. This 8th annual gathering features a series of inspiring speakers alongside local musicians, hands-on activities, and complimentary food. It is a hub for the city’s most curious minds to connect and share new ideas.

If comedy is more your speed, head to the Louisville Comedy Club to catch K. Trevor Wilson. Known for his dry wit and storytelling, Wilson has two sets tonight at 7:00 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

Nightlife and Community Meetups

The night stays lively with electronic music artist Saxsquatch, who brings his Party Animal Tour to the Mercury Ballroom at 8:00 p.m. Expect a unique blend of live saxophone and digital beats. Simultaneously, Grateful Dead tribute band Cosmic Charlie will be performing at Headliners Music Hall for those looking for an immersive rock experience.

For a more low-key community vibe, join the "Great Games at Gravely" meetup at Gravely Brewing Co. starting at 7:00 p.m. This gathering is perfect for meeting new people over board games and local craft brews. Additionally, the Louisville Newbies Collective is hosting a Happy Hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., providing a welcoming space for those who have recently moved to the city to make new friends.
