Emergency Weather and Safety Advisories
Mayor Craig Greenberg and Louisville Metro officials have issued critical safety reminders following the significant snowfall and ice accumulation across the region. A Winter Storm Warning remains active, with extreme cold temperatures expected to persist. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel to allow road crews to continue clearing operations. Wind chills are forecast to drop significantly, and the community is encouraged to check on elderly neighbors and ensure pets are kept indoors.

Due to hazardous road conditions, the following service adjustments are in effect for Monday, January 26, 2026:

- Government Offices: Most Metro Government non-essential offices and the local USCIS field office are closed today.
Community Meetings and Public Hearings
Despite the weather, some scheduled public engagements remain on the calendar, though residents should verify status before traveling:
- Livestock Ordinance Town Hall: Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell is hosting a community discussion regarding livestock space requirements in the Louisville Metro Code of Ordinances. The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the South Central Regional Library.
