Louisville Metro District 3 Advisory Board Meeting

Councilwoman Shameka Parrish-Wright (D-3) has issued an official invitation to the community to attend the District 3 Advisory Board meeting, also known as 3DAB, scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The meeting will convene at 6:00 p.m. at Louisville City Hall, located at 601 W. Jefferson Street. This monthly advisory board is open to all residents of District 3 with the mission of uniting the district’s twelve neighborhoods. Participants will have the opportunity to provide direct advice on local policy, voice constituent concerns, and discuss upcoming budgetary decisions for the district.

External Agency Fund (EAF) and HUD Grant Deadlines

The Louisville Metro Government reminds local non-profit organizations that the application window for the Fiscal Year 2027 External Agency Fund (EAF) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants is currently active. These funds support programs aligned with the city’s strategic goals, including safe and healthy streets, homelessness prevention, and equitable access to essential services. Organizations must submit their applications through the Euna system no later than Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Upcoming office hours for application assistance are scheduled for February 17 to support prospective sub-recipients.

Winter Infrastructure Alert: Pothole Repair Blitz

Louisville Metro Public Works has intensified its road maintenance efforts following a series of snow and ice events throughout the winter season. The frequent freezing and thawing cycles have significantly weakened pavement across the metro area. Public service crews have already filled tens of thousands of potholes this season, but residents are urged to remain active in reporting new road hazards. Damage can be reported by contacting Metro311, using the online service request portal, or by sending location details to the city’s social media channels using the hashtag #502pothole. Reporting road issues allows crews to respond more efficiently and ensures safer transit for all residents.

Public Health Advisory: Seasonal Illness Awareness

Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness is currently emphasizing community awareness regarding varicella, commonly known as chickenpox, following reports of seasonal transmission. Public health officials recommend that residents review their vaccination status and monitor for symptoms such as fever, fatigue, and the characteristic itchy rash. Additionally, in the wake of recent frigid temperatures, health officials continue to advise residents on the importance of checking on vulnerable neighbors and following safety protocols for home heating to prevent carbon monoxide exposure.

Upcoming Metro Council Committee Schedule

Residents are notified that the 2026 Metro Council standing committees are now fully operational under the leadership of President Brent Ackerson. The nine standing committees, which include the Budget, Public Safety, and Public Works committees, are responsible for examining proposed legislation and reviewing the activities of city agencies. While the District 3 meeting occurs this evening, the Democratic Caucus is slated to meet tomorrow, February 12, to discuss the upcoming legislative agenda. All committee meetings remain open to the public at City Hall.
