Quarterly Community Meeting: Independent Monitor Report

The Louisville Metro Independent Monitor, Effective Law Enforcement for All (ELEFA), will host its first quarterly community meeting of the year this evening, Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The session will take place at the Newburg Community Center, located at 4810 Exeter Avenue. Doors are scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m., with the formal program running from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

During this meeting, the Independent Monitor will present a quarterly report regarding Paragraph 9 of the Community Commitment. Following the presentation, there will be an open forum for community feedback and questions regarding local law enforcement practices. Light refreshments will be provided, and the city has confirmed that both Spanish-language and ASL interpretation services will be available for all attendees.

Grant Assistance: External Agency Fund Office Hours

The Louisville Metro Office of Social Services (OSS) is holding virtual office hours today, February 17, to assist local non-profit organizations with the Fiscal Year 2027 External Agency Fund (EAF) application process. The technical assistance session will be held via Webex from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

These grants are designed to support projects that align with city goals for neighborhood revitalization and social services. Non-profits are encouraged to use this time to ask technical questions regarding the Euna grants portal. The final deadline for all grant applications is Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Environmental Protection: Air Pollution Control Comment Deadline

Residents are reminded that today, February 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. is the final deadline to submit written comments to the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (APCD) regarding proposed amendments to Regulation 2.08 (Fees). The proposed changes involve adjustments to the Risk Management Plan (RMP) Program fees to sustain local environmental oversight and safety programs.

Written statements can be submitted via the APCD online portal or mailed to the Board Secretary-Treasurer at the Edison Center. A public hearing to accept oral comments on this matter is scheduled for tomorrow, February 18, at 10:00 a.m.

Public Health Advisory: Respiratory Virus Surge

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness has issued a standing advisory due to a significant increase in seasonal respiratory illnesses across Jefferson County. Surveillance data indicates a rise in confirmed cases of influenza, pertussis, and RSV.
