Louisville Slugger Field and American Red Cross schedule January 21 blood drive with donor incentives

Blood drive set for Wednesday at Louisville Slugger Field
Louisville Slugger Field will host a community blood drive on Wednesday, January 21, with donations scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is a partnership between the Louisville Bats and the American Red Cross and is open to donors of all blood types.
The drive comes during a time of year when blood collection efforts often face heightened challenges following the holiday season, while hospitals continue to require a steady supply of blood products for ongoing patient care and emergencies.
Eligibility requirements and what donors should bring
Donors will be asked to bring a blood donor card or a valid driver’s license. Standard eligibility requirements for participation include being in generally good health, weighing at least 110 pounds, and meeting age requirements. Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with parental consent.
- Date: Wednesday, January 21
- Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Location: Louisville Slugger Field
- Parking/entry: Main lot at Jackson and Main streets; enter through the East Gate archway
Incentives tied to the 2026 baseball season and Super Bowl LX promotion
Organizers are offering baseball-related incentives aimed at encouraging participation. All donors will receive four ticket vouchers redeemable for reserved seats to a Louisville Bats home game during the 2026 season. The vouchers exclude Thunder at Louisville Slugger Field on April 18, and additional exclusions may apply.
In addition, those who donate during the January 21 drive will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The event combines a scheduled blood collection drive with ticket-based incentives intended to boost donor turnout during the winter months.
Logistics and planning
Advance registration is encouraged, and signage inside the ballpark is expected to direct donors to the correct donation area once they enter. The drive’s organizers have framed the event as a community-focused effort to support ongoing local and regional blood needs while providing an added benefit for participants during the upcoming baseball season.
Donors who have questions about eligibility, donation intervals, or appointment availability are encouraged to confirm details before arriving, particularly if they are first-time donors or have recently donated blood.
