Louisville police seek suspect after afternoon holdup at Chase Bank on Bardstown Road in Highlands area

Louisville Metro Police are investigating a bank robbery reported Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at a Chase Bank location on Bardstown Road. Officers were called to the bank in the 1700 block of Bardstown Road at about 1:45 p.m. on a report of a holdup.
Police said a man entered the bank, demanded cash and left with an undisclosed amount of money. Investigators said the suspect left the area in an unknown direction.
Suspect description and investigative steps
Police described the suspect as a white man. Authorities have not released an estimated age, height or clothing description in the initial public briefing, and no weapon was reported in the preliminary summary.
The case is being handled by the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Robbery Unit. As part of the investigation, police are asking for help from anyone who may have captured video in the area around the time of the incident, including:

- dash cameras from vehicles traveling on Bardstown Road
Investigators said such footage can be critical for establishing a timeline, confirming the suspect’s direction of travel and identifying potential vehicles or accomplices.

Police are urging anyone with information about the robbery, including observations before or after the holdup, to contact the LMPD Anonymous Tip Line at (502) 574-LMPD (5673). Tips can also be submitted through the department’s online Crime Tip Portal.
Police requested that people who have relevant video preserve it and report its existence, even if the footage does not clearly show a suspect’s face.
