Investigation centers on a non-fatal shooting in Portland

Louisville Metro Police detectives are working to identify a man believed to be involved in a non-fatal shooting that occurred late at night on Nov. 25 in the Portland neighborhood. The case remained active into December as investigators circulated images of a suspect captured on camera and asked residents to come forward with information.

The shooting was reported around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of North 17th Street. Police have said one adult was injured. The department has not released the victim’s name or additional medical details, and no arrest was announced in connection with this case at the time the public alert was issued.

Investigators described the suspect as an adult man believed to be between 30 and 40 years old and of short build, around 5 feet 5 inches tall. Police also indicated the person of interest was recorded on camera and that the images were clear enough to support identification by members of the public.
